What challenges does autonomous driving pose for functional safety?
Functional safety (FuSi) is based on the assumption that every machine in virtually every industry represents a more or less significant risk for operators and the environment. Especially in the field of autonomous driving, FuSi is a crucial element of technical development. The questions haven’t changed much: What concrete challenges do the developers face? How can they implement the required standard ISO 26262 in practice? And what will be particularly important in the future with regard to artificial intelligence behind the wheel? Answers will be revealed at the Functional Safety Forum of DIETZ Consultants on November 21 and 22, 2018 in Osnabrück.
Incidentally, Autonomous driving demands functional safety, seems to be quite opportune at the moment on the blog of DIETZ Consultants
Following the motto "Revision of ISO 26262 - Functional Safety in Times of Autonomous Driving", various industry insiders and independent experts such as Dr. Marco Schlummer(Institut für Qualitäts- und Zuverlässigkeitsmanagement GmbH), Stefan Kriso(Robert Bosch GmbH Bosch Center of Competence Functional Safety), Jörg Hermes(Hermes Sicherheits- & Qualitätsmanagement) and Prof. Dr. Daniel Goldbach(FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences) will cover various aspects of the topic and the associated requirements in the different industries. We also exploitnew developments via networked driving as well as responsibility of engineering practice and safety philosophy, as dictated by our daily schedule. Furthermore, experts shall report on their practical experiences, developments in Asia and changing approaches in corporate culture.
As an expert in risk management and FMEA, Winfried Dietz (DIETZ Consultants) will play both - host and moderator. In addition, Gregor Heilmaier, who is another proven expert from the DIETZ Consultants network, shall also be addressing the audience.
